OWP + Craft Brewers Host Beer & Water Trivia with Lawmakers
The day began with a Joint Agriculture Committee Hearing, where members of both the House and Senate gathered to hear presentations on critical agriculture-related issues. In the afternoon, OWP partnered with Ohio’s craft brewers to host a tasting event for legislators, featuring a variety of Ohio craft beers and a round of water-themed trivia. Clean, abundant water is vital to the brewing process, and we showcased four beers made with water sourced from Lake Erie, the Ohio River, and two of Ohio’s largest aquifers.
In the end, the Ohio House claimed victory, but win or lose, the event was a fun and engaging experience for all. More than a dozen Democratic and Republican members of the House and Senate participated, joined by ODA Director Baldridge, Secretary of State LaRose, Ohio Farm Bureau executive Adam Sharp, and former State Rep Don Jones, now serving as State Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency. It was especially rewarding to see many legislators bring along spouses, children, parents, and other family members to enjoy a day at the Ohio State Fair.
