45th Annual Governor’s Fish Ohio Day

Walleyes, Water Quality & Ohio’s Outdoor Economy

The Ohio Water Partnership (OWP) was proud to take part in the 45th Annual Governor’s Fish Ohio Day, a beloved tradition started by Governor James A. Rhodes in 1979. The two-day celebration emphasizes the importance of Lake Erie’s health, Ohio’s thriving outdoor recreation economy, and of course—Lake Erie Walleye.

“Lake Erie is one of the most productive fishing destinations in the country,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “Fish Ohio Day celebrates the amazing resource we have here in the Buckeye State.
