Ohio Chamber Releases Data Center Related Water Study

Today, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation released Water Readiness and Data Centers: A Near Term Study for Ohio”.

Water is one of Ohio’s great economic advantages and we need to preserve and protect this critical resource at the same time that we protect and grow Ohio’s economy. To achieve this and advocate for effective public policy, we require data. The Ohio Water Partnership is grateful to the Ohio Chamber Research Foundation for commissioning this timely study and making it accessible during the Ohio General Assembly’s convening of the Joint Committee on Data Centers.

“This study presents a focused analysis of the impact of data centers on water resources in Ohio. It is intended to provide greater clarity on local impacts. It draws on publicly available information related to Ohio’s water resources, current data center technologies, energy and water use, and emerging technology trends. By bringing this information together in a single document, the report aims to provide a constructive, fact-based analysis around water resources using locally relevant data.”
